STANS ZOUAIN
BORN – 10/05/1900 –
ZEAITRE – LEBANON
DIED – 10/05/1992 – VITORIA
– ES – BRAZIL

English
:
1 - In the spring of the
year of 1900, José and
Maria’s last son was born.
His older brothers were
Zouain, Michel, Chicri,
Fares, Acle, Emily and
Zambek.
José wanted to name him
Mansur, but Maria wanted
Stans to honor her brother
Stanislau Murad. José knew
the feelings Maria had
towards her brother, so he
agreed and the boy was named
Stans.
02 – By the way, here is
Murad’s family, Stanislau’s
children, the cousins:
Afonso, Luiz, Victor and
Rosa. They all migrated to
Brazil and have always been
close do Zouain’s family,
either in Lebanon or Brazil.
They lived around Vitoria
and Colatina, except for
Rosa, who went back to
Lebanon in the 1940.
Another very important
family that accompanied the
family Zouain was Aoun, in
Lebanon (Namthلla married to
Emily and Fares married to
Zambek) and in Brazil
through Inلcio Aoun, that
migrated together with Stans
and Acle, living close to
them until his death in the
decade of 70.
03 – On Sunday, when Stans
was 14 years old, his mother
went to mass. Coming back
home she noticed the front
door opened.
The wind had opened the
door, but she ran terrified,
thinking to be some thief
that entered to rob food,
because the population of
Lebanon went by a difficult
moment due to 1st World War
and who possessed some food
needed to keep it for the
family survival. Maria got
so nervous, so scared that
she had an heart attack,
passing away a few hours
later. She recommended very
much for her son Stans.
04 -Some days later his
sister Zambek had an strange
but very beautiful dream.
Her mother appeared and told
her that she had hidden some
money in a certain hole of
one of the walls of stone of
the house. She kept it for
some emergency. Next day
Zambek found the place
indicated by her mother and
the money.
The following day, Zambek
was in the such place that
the mother indicated it in
the dream, and behind a free
stone, was the such money.
They all cried very much.
They all missed her very
much and this fact envolved
joy and sadness at the same
time.
05 - Stans as a boy was
responsible for the
transport of food and other
goods for his house and
other places; he had a
donkey that accompanied him
in the long walkings by the
hills of Zaitre and
surroundings. Many times he
had to go to his brother’s
house, very far from Zaitre.
Michel would always receive
Stans with much joy, yelling
at his wife: -Mلlaque, cook
FAاOULE, Stans has just
arrived!
06 – This was a very hard
working for Stans. He was so
tired that many times he
would sleep in the open air.
One night, sleeping with the
donkey’s rope tied in his
hand, somebody arrived,
unfastened the rope and
robbed the donkey with the
load. The following day the
boy was terrified because
the food of his house
depended on that robbed
load. He arrived crying at
home, but he had the
understanding of everybody,
mainly of his dear sister
Zambek that said to him:
- The person who robbed the
donkey and the load perhaps
needs more than we do.
And Zambek was right. Thirty
years later, in a city of
Brazil, two Lebanese were
having a conversation and
one of them said to the
other that he would travel
in the following day to find
someone of Zouain’s family.
Hearing such word, one of
them exclaimed:
- My God! The boy Stans
Zouain! And he continued:
- Certain time I was so
desperate, without any
money, that I followed a boy
with his donkey, waited
until he fell asleep, and
robbed his donkey and the
load. With the money I made
I went to Beirute where I
bought a passage in the
first ship to America, and
here I am. He would like to
meet Stans to beg for his
pardon and to thank him for
coming to Brazil and for
having such a special
family.
They never met each other,
but Stans was very touched
and forgave him.
07 - And returning to
Lebanon, it was autumn of
1919.
Stans Zouain was hunting in
the mountains of Zaitre with
his nephew Inلcio Aoun
(Emily’s son) when he saw
coming up the hill his
brother Acle Zouain. In one
of his hands he had a letter
and three tickets to Brazil,
sent by his oldest brother
Zouain Zouain, who was in
Brazil since 1912.
Stans was so happy about the
news that he discharged two
shots to the sky.
His sister Zambek cried alot
saying good bye to him. At
that time she gave him a
silver coin, which he kept
during all his life.
When arriving to Brazil
Stans cried, missing his
country very much. The
longing of Lebanon became
larger than the distance
that the ship traveled.
08 – He was married to
Celina (the only one to
marry a Brazilian woman) and
they had twelve children:
Michel, Jamil, José, Hilton,
Elias (died at eight days
old), Roberto, Cézar,
Alberto, Stans, Maria José,
Dulce and Celina.
His wife Celina, Roberto,
Maria José and his youngest
daughter Celina have already
died.
His descendants' great part
inhabits the city of Vitَria
and surroundings.
Portuguese
:
01 - Na primavera do ano de
1900, nascia o ْltimo filho
do casal José e Maria. Seus
irmمos mais velhos eram
Zouain, Michel, Chicri,
Fares, Acle, Emilia e Zambek.
José queria que o filho se
chamasse Mansur, mas Maria
queria Stans em homenagem ao
seu irmمo que se chamava
Stanislau Murad. José
sabendo que a esposa adorava
o irmمo consentiu e o garoto
passou a se chamar Stans.
02 – Na verdade, a famيlia
Murad com os filhos de
Stanislau, os primos: Afonso,
Luiz, Victor e Rosa que
migraram para o Brasil,
sempre estiveram por perto
da familia Zouain no Lيbano
ainda jovens e
principalmente no Brasil
(com exceçمo de Rosa que
voltou para o Lيbano na
década de 40) vivendo em
Vitَria e em Colatina.
Outra familia muito
importante que acompanhou a
familia Zouain foi Aoun, no
Lيbano ( Namthلla casado com
Emilia e Fares casado com
Zambek ) e no Brasil através
de Inلcio Aoun, que migrou
juntamente com Stans e Acle,
vivendo perto deles até o
seu falecimento na década de
70.
03 - Num domingo, quando
Stans tinha ainda 14 anos,
sua mمe foi a missa, e ao
voltar sozinha para casa,
viu de longe a porta da
entrada que estava aberta.
Sem saber que foi o vento
que a abriu, correu
apavorada, pensando ser
algum ladrمo que entrou para
roubar comida, pois a
populaçمo do Lيbano passava
por um momento difيcil
devido a 1 Guerra Mundial e
quem possuيa alguma comida
tinha que guardل-la para sua
sobrevivência e a da famيlia.
Mesmo nمo tendo nenhum
ladrمo, Maria devido ao
susto, teve um ataque do
coraçمo e faleceu horas
depois, recomendando pelo
seu filho mais novo Stans.
04 – Alguns dias depois, sua
irmم Zambek teve um sonho
estranho mas muito bonito.
Sua mمe lhe dizia no sonho,
que em um certo buraco de
uma das paredes de pedra da
casa, estava escondido uma
pequena quantia de dinheiro
que ela guardou para alguma
emergência.
No dia seguinte, Zambek foi
no tal lugar que a mمe lhe
indicou no sonho, e atrلs de
uma pedra solta, estava o
tal dinheiro. Todos choraram
de alegria, de tristeza e de
saudades da mمe.
05 - Stans ainda garoto, era
o responsلvel da sua casa
pelo transporte de comida e
outros bens de lugar para
outro, para isto tinha um
burro que o acompanhava nas
longas caminhadas pelos
morros de Zaitre e arredores.
Vez ou outra passava pela
casa do seu irmمo Michel que
morava distante de Zaitre.
Quando chegava era uma festa
e Michel, que sabia qual era
a comida que Stans mais
apreciava, dizia para sua
esposa:
Mلlaque, faça façule
pois Stans chegou.
06 - Andando com o seu
burro e a carga para
cima e para baixo,
muitas vezes Stans
dormia ao relento pois
anoitecia e o garoto
estava muito cansado.
Mas numa destas noites
enquanto o garoto dormia
com a corda do burro
amarrada na sua mمo para
que o mesmo nمo fugisse,
alguém chegou de
mansinho e desamarrou o
laço da corda da mمo do
Stans, e roubou-lhe o
burro com a carga. No
dia seguinte o garoto
ficou apavorado pois o
alimento da sua casa
dependia daquela carga
roubada. Chegou chorando
em casa, mas teve a
compreensمo de todos,
principalmente da sua
irmم querida Zambek que
lhe disse:
A pessoa que roubou o
burro e a carga talvez
necessitasse mais do que
nَs.
E Zambek estava certa
pois trinta anos depois,
numa cidade do Bradois
Libaneses conversavam, e
um deles dpara o outro
que viajaria no dia
seguinte para uma cidade
onde teria um encontro
com alguém da famيlia
Zouain.
Ao ouvir a palavra
Zouain, o outro libanês
assustado se lembrou de
algo acontecido hل
muitos anos e exclamou:
Meu Deus! Coitado do
garoto Stans Zouain! E
continuou dizendo:
Certa vez eu estava tمo
desesperado e sem
dinheiro que segui um
garoto com seu burro e
esperei que ele dormisse
e roubei-lhe o burro e a
carga. Vendi o produto
do roubo e fugi para
Beirute onde comprei uma
passagem no primeiro
navio que partia para a
América, e aqui estou.
Gostaria de encontrar
com Stans, pedir-lhe
perdمo e agradecer-lhe
pois, se nمo fosse ele,
eu nمo viria para o
Brasil e nunca teria a
famيlia que tenho.
Mas os dois nunca se
encontraram e Stans quando
soube da histَria ficou
comovido e o perdoou.
07 - E voltando ao Lيbano,
era outono de 1919.
Stans Zouain caçava nas
montanhas de Zaitre com seu
sobrinho Inلcio Aoun ( filho
da sua irmم Emily ) quando
ao longe, subindo o morro,
vinha correndo, o seu irmمo
Acle Zouain , que trazia em
uma das mمos uma carta e
junto com ela, três
passagens para o Brasil, que
o irmمo mais velho Zouain
Zouain, que vivia no Brasil
desde 1912, enviara.
Ao saber da notيcia, Stans
ficou tمo feliz que disparou
os dois tiros, da sua arma
de caça, para o alto.
Sua irmم Zambek apَs chorar
muito, ao se despedir, lhe
deu uma moeda de prata que
ele guardou durante toda a
sua vida.
Ao desembarcar no Brasil,
Stans chorou de tristeza
pois a saudade do Lيbano se
tornou maior do que a
distância que o navio
percorreu.
08 - Sua esposa se chamava
Celina ( foi o ْnico dos
irmمos que se casou com
brasileira ) e tiveram doze
filhos: Michel, Jamil, José,
Hilton, Elias ( falecido com
oito dias de idade ),
Roberto, Cezar, Alberto,
Stans, Maria José, Dulce e
Celina.
Sua esposa Celina, Roberto,
Maria José e a filha mais
nova Celina jل faleceram.
Grande parte dos seus
descendentes habitam na
cidade de Vitَria e
arredores.
Special Thanks To
Stansinho
Stans Zouein .
